Create Yourself

4 min readJul 24, 2025

A lot of psychic and human energy is being thrown around right now. Today. Today and many days and years before and many days and years yet to come. The energy around us sometimes, all day every day, feels out of control. Too much of it is negative. It comes from the depths of some very dark hearts.

So now take a hard look at yourself.

Are you paying attention to yourself?

Are you aware of how often you clench your jaw, your hands? How you suddenly become aware that the muscles in your arms and legs feel like somebody’s taken huge clamps and strapped them on? Does your chest feel tight? Do you feel like you can’t breathe? Is your heart racing? Is your mind going a million miles a minute?

Some of these are classic symptoms of panic attacks and heart attacks. They are also signs of fear, terror, anger and a range of other emotions.

Sometimes, when we’re paying attention to ourselves and how we feel about our lives and our world around us, it comes down to feeling plainly and cleanly like the world is not in touch with us.

We frame it the other way around. We verbalize it backwards from what we are honestly feeling and experiencing. Maybe we say that we are under the impression that we aren’t in touch with the world, but that is not necessarily what’s going on inside of us.

Inside there’s a swirling mass that we’ve been told to assume makes us uncertain, inconclusive, to believe that we don’t know what is really and truly going on with us and with the mass confusion around us.

Don’t believe it for a second.

What we know, regardless of what some bloviating expert or — even more fun — politician or pseudo-tech wizard opines, is that something is wrong in our lives. Perhaps many things are wrong. Maybe the world and those wannabe experts are wrong about what they say and what they do. It would not be at all unusual if they were deliberately lying to us in an effort to make themselves look less incompetent, less awful as human beings.

But there is still more.

People who know far more about science than I tell me about things I would never expect to hear from their lips, things we expect to hear from astrologers rather than scientists. These men and women tell me that the average adult human body is sixty percent water. The movements of the moon and the planets and the stars all affect the tides we see in bodies of water. Equally, because our bodies are such a high percentage of fluids, it affects humans. If, like me, you ever worked in hospitals or with the fire departments and police who delivered much of our full moon clientele to the emergency departments, you can figure it out the same as I did. What the scientists say is true.

Here we are with a brand spanking new Mercury retrograde and a lunar switch from Cancer to Leo. That typically doesn’t mean a whole lot to me because I don’t understand astrology. A scientist did warn me, however, to keep my eyes on retrogrades as much as on full moons. They can drastically affect our inner tides. If we let them. The same is true with changes in lunar seasons.

A decade after I left the last hospital where I worked, I am reminded of what I was told long ago and what I am hearing again.

The Mercury retrograde and change of lunar month has very suddenly seen some interesting behaviors. Some people have behaved like lunatics. From the Latin lunaticus. Meaning moonstruck. So, for that matter, have some computer systems. All while we are less than a week into the retrograde with only two days into the Leo season. It’s like full moon time all over again.

So what are we going to do about what’s going on in the heavens and on our earth to create the lives we should have to reach our spiritual goals for this life?

We could do like one scientist told me long ago. Just because the popular mythology is that life is supposed to go off the rails doesn’t mean it has to. We get to decide. If the computer or the car or the washing machine aren’t working, we know what to do. Tinker with them as much as we can. If that doesn’t work, call in the experts. Continue on with life and don’t get all caught up in stories that are not necessarily our personal histories.

We can feel confident and self-assured in who we are. There is no reason whatsoever that we cannot create a new and better life for ourselves. No matter what others might have told us in the past, we have the responsibility to ourselves to be positive and to feel personally powerful. If someone says things that are either not true or simply cruel and abusive, we are supposed to turn our backs on that person and walk away. We’re better than that.

It doesn’t matter if that person is some big shot or just another bozo on the bus. Go on with life. Recreate in your mind what ought to be there regardless of the bombastic negativity attempting to intrude. Live in the quiet goodness of your soul.

It may be time to look at our personal aspirations one more time. Who do we want to be? What do we want for ourselves in this life? What do we want to accomplish?

It is all a part of creating the real person that we know is inside. We may not have created that person yet, but that doesn’t matter. We can start small. Take baby steps. A bit at a time. Move forward with the magic that is us.

We don’t need to big or loud or flashy. That may be totally contrary to our natures.

Be daring. Be audacious. Be our true selves.
