Magic Is In The Doing
It’s absolutely lovely any time someone asks me how long I’ve done magic. Honestly? From a human perspective the clown who did tricks at my cousin’s fifth birthday party very likely did better magic than I have ever performed in this life. The clown’s magic, unlike my life in the paranormal world, is the sort of magic that suits the idea almost everybody has when they ask me that question. And, to be honest, child that I was, it was far more exciting to watch that neighbor man and all of the magicians I’ve seen. I have never been the sort of magician or trickster that other people think I am. My friends and I don’t perform sleight of hand. What you might think we do is not what we actually do.
We have not used our spiritual powers in that manner for a very long time.
We’ve talked about this, my compatriots and I. We miss those millennia when thought became deed in private and in front of the eyes of rulers and populations alike. You might have the notion that we ought to be like Harry Houdini, Penn and Teller or another act. We are not the Justice League, Guardians of the Galaxy or anything approaching the movie wizards such as Harry Potter. The plethora of movies about the knights of the Round Table, Excalibur and Merlin are fantasy. All of those things are, to one extent or another, based on a reality that no longer exists and the imaginations of men.
