Something I have never understood is why heterosexuals, condemnatory or not, presume to think LGBTQ+ people require or care about their approval. Five of us were in the room the day I married: the JP, two friends and us. Two days later we visited a Catholic abbey because my monastic friends were eager to meet my new spouse. Whenever heterosexuals have wasted my time with their judgments, I have told them not to pretend to think that I approve of them.
