What are the lies you tell yourself?
Do you tell yourself that you aren’t good enough? Smart enough? That you will never meet the standards others imposed on you that frankly, they can’t meet either?
Once we recognize that false information really is false, we can drop it. Unless we prefer to continue to inflict pain on ourselves. Every time we affirm something that is right when it is, in fact, wrong we commit a wrong. When the facts of life are laid out in front of our eyes and still we choose disinformation, we commit an immoral act.
It’s called free will.
If you choose to tell the whole world that you are the one who placed the stone structure in the bottom of the Sea of Galilee, that is your choice. My question for you is whether or not you are actually twelve thousand years old.
No one can force us to do what is moral and just. We cannot be compelled to be honest, decent human beings. Whatever the case is for you, I know people who daily lie to me. They pronounce bald-faced lies with the expectation that I will accept their canards as reality.
Insidious as this may be, it is far more upsetting when someone lies from what they incorrectly think is a morally superior place. Please stop. Just go get a glass of milk, some cookies and stuff your mouth. Better to grow fat on food than to fill the world with gross immoralities.
And yet, we have free will. Race, creed, sect, denomination or other is irrelevant.
Free will gives us the ability to live on purpose. We can have goals and directions and desires that push, pull and otherwise drag creation forward. It is our gift to live within the Creator’s light that graces our spiritual information.
Do you want to be a good person?
There are phrases we hear now and again that remind us of something entirely unrelated. When I hear the neuter word “men”, which traditionally covered both sexes, replaced with “people” I am reminded of a line from the movie Kinky Boots.
“Ladies, gentlemen and those who are yet to make up your minds.”
Make up your mind.
Do you live in reality? Do you spread the theoretical truth of theoretical experts or are you real?
Live on purpose.
Breathe on purpose.
Be good and decent on purpose.
Judge yourself for the good you can do for others and get out of the way of their relationship with their Creator.
How dare you?
How dare I say that? Well, you sit down to write surrounded by the archangel prince of warrior angels and a room full of other angels and see what you come up with. The archangel Michael most often nudges me in the ribs and shoulders and brains to get on with it.
Stop being so human.
Stop trying to pretend to be diplomatic.
Tell the humans that they are entirely missing the point of their lives. Which is to attain divinity. To be with the Creator in this life and the next. There is no being with It as long as humans continue to listen to the Evil One.
The Pater Noster in English is a weak, watered-down prayer. Read it in Latin or, my favorite because it is the most direct, French.
The last phrase becomes “deliver us from the Evil One.”
Are you prepared to deliver yourself from your internal demons? From the hell that owns you? Are you strong enough to inform yourself of your own spiritual needs? That what is properly yours’ is not necessarily true for the rest of the world?
How many other parents and grandparents are like me? I would love to tell my daughter and grandsons exactly how to live their lives, but that would be an exercise in stupidity. They have free will! They have to exercise it.
They have their Creator to love. They have Its angels to protect them, same as all the rest of us.
And, let’s face it, I am a pretty unruly character myself. Just ask my dogs. Their spiritual information to me is to watch out. Behave myself. Do they really need to deal with me?
My curse and blessing in this world is that I actually see angels. And God. And it is terrifically annoying. Especially because they have spent my lifetime ganging up on me whenever I pretend to myself that I know too much. Whenever I am too right.
Find your core.
Find the center of your spirit.
Hew to it.
