Telepathy
I ran into a friend and her two young children the other day. The children, like their mother, are highly sensitive people. They all three see and hear angels and spirits. At various times the mother, like too more people than I can count, has asked if I can read minds. Sometimes it’s suggested by assorted individuals that I really do hear their thoughts and the thoughts of people in general whether I’m at home or out in public.
Let me give you a clue.
No, I don’t.
It’s not because I can’t. Lord knows that I can hear people’s thoughts. Sometimes they are right beside me. Other times they are hundreds or even thousands of miles away. The best description I have is to say that at least ninety-nine percent of all human beings are like radios that are constantly turned on with the volume at full blast. While we know how to turn down the volume on radios, televisions and other electronic devices, humans aren’t aware that they have the ability to turn down their noisy minds. They are too busy being busy. Their minds are busy devising ways to do things that, honestly, most of the world doesn’t care about.
More than once I walked down Chicago streets with my brother. We looked around. We saw the people, the stores and the restaurants. Sometimes we walked along Lake Michigan to take in the birds swooping above the water, the sandy shore and the buildings along the nearby street. Wherever we went there were people. With the people came their noisy minds.
More than once I recall him staring at me and growling for me to turn it town. I was broadcasting my thoughts too loudly. He was an extraordinarily sensitive empath. The slightest mental noise at the wrong time from the wrong person, that was me at almost any time of night or day, could throw him off. Once he was off, he flew way off kilter and yelled at me to rope myself back in.
It wasn’t enough to say “Oops, sorry about that” after the first time. He might have been a cute kid, but he snapped and growled like a starving wolf.
It was bad enough that we were surrounded by crowds on the streets or in buildings thinking about last night’s supper, the date they didn’t get, the man or woman or other they’d been unsuccessful in getting into bed or the one they had bedded that turned out to be a disaster, the life yet to come.
Who cares?
Before you get involved in the noisiness of your own life, stop. Think about it. One of the main reasons various mystics, psychics and other spiritual and religious teachers recommend meditation is that it slows the mind. Sometimes, when we’re willing, it even stops the mind. It opens us up to the things that really matter.
Stop your mind.
It’s okay to stop looking inside at all the self-important things you tell yourself you have to do to prove you are better than everybody else. It’s okay not to be the emperor of the world. Life, in point of fact, works out best the less we pretend we have to prove. When we think we have something to prove we also typically feel the need to be perfect. With that comes mental and spiritual noise.
That noise is fear. It may be fear of fear. When we are afraid of someone or something, we try to hide behind whatever distraction, whatever smoke screen we can manufacture.
Stop the noise. Stop looking for distractions to help you hide from the noise that you created. Give yourself a break away from it all.
Be still.
Be quiet within yourself.
Tell whatever devil is bothering you to go to hell.
Fear comes when we’re looking for the prizes we think we deserve. Have you forgotten that what you deserve is going to be different than you suppose? It’s not the bright lights and big fancy boxes with the bow on top that’s coming to us. It’s what we overlooked or ignored.
The gifts we get are the ones we need.
It’s not the new pair of over-priced shoes, the latest car, the fancy vacation that we’ve been imagining.
What we get is much, much more.
Yes, those things might be nice, but what about you? Those are things you want. They’re merely material. What do you need for yourself? What things will enrich your soul? What are the things you cannot imagine because you haven’t stepped back from life’s noisiness, all the manufactured explosive emotions, to give your own spirit a thorough looking over?
Imagine that I am focusing on you. Or someone else is paying you attention who can read minds, some one of us who is telepathic.
What do you sincerely want us to hear?
