The Doctors
The Spirited Team
Under typical circumstances dealing with cancer in Western medicine requires a medical team comprised of surgeon, oncologist, their squads and whatever other medical staff are required. It’s not all gloom and doom. A few months ago I went in for routine minor surgery. Once I met the gas passer, aka anesthesiologist, I wasn’t sure I was going to make it to the table without busting my gut laughing. Lord knows I’ve had more than my fair share of Western medical doctors in the last fifty-five years who have kept me alive. I’ve met some great women and men in all areas of the medical world, including when I worked in hospitals. However, that woman was easily in the top five for personality. She is also an excellent physician.
Most people who see this are solely accustomed with Western medicine as it’s developed in Europe and America since the nineteenth century.
What the average person forgets and insurance companies are too blind to cover can often be the most effective treatments.
In the early twenty-first century I was in a car accident. Thanks to degenerative bone disease, I lost two vertebrae. I was in tremendous pain. All the while I refused to take pain pills. What Western doctors don’t tell their patients is that pain medications don’t kill pain. They trick the brain into thinking the pain is gone. Pain killers are pain masks. It’s one reason why it is so easy to become addicted to supposed pain pills.
Rather than go to a traditional physician I went to a chiropractor. He further sent me on to a massage therapist and an acupuncturist. Within a matter of a few months I was up and walking correctly again. I had learned to sit upright again. Preparations continued for a vacation trip I was planning that included a lot of time on planes, trains and busses. All of it was managed by what the medical establishment and insurance companies have tried to convince us are not acceptable therapies.
What absolute rot.
At various times I have been the happy recipient of the little known practice of naprapathy. I’ve also explored Japanese reiki and other energy work. It works, but we also have to take the medicine of patience and cooperation for anything to work. Patience is the most difficult medicine to take of all.
Irrespective of the approach one takes to healing anything from the slightest booboo to catastrophic trauma, healing requires concentration and a great deal of energy. I have seen the price other people paid who tried to get back in the game too soon. It’s the same consequences I faced when I attempted to do too much too soon when dealing with various ailments. It doesn’t work. The body rebels and we’re all back in duck soup.
This time around I know there are many people praying for me as I deal with this cancer. That, in case you have never really thought about it, is equally as much a form of energy healing as reiki, massage, acupuncture, chakra, sound healing and many other options. I challenge you to think about the last time you were unwell. If someone said they were thinking about you or praying for you, they were performing spiritual medicine.
Currently there is one person in my life working on a specific organ while another person is working on a different organ. Because of their training and work, they both do very specialized work. In layman’s terms, having them is like driving a Porsche around the race track instead of a Mack truck. From my experience, they are the crème de la crème.
Another friend who is a professional reiki practitioner wrote to me, “I asked your higher self if I could send you reiki. You agreed. Get this: I did the symbols in my head. Then I wondered how will I send it? I was told ‘use your third eye’. So I did. I’m not sure it was completely reiki. I sent the energy and then you got wrapped up in a clear bubble. Next came white, pink and purple light along the edges of the bubble. You were tipped upside down, right side up. You were picked up, floating in your bubble light and then ‘they’ (my they, assuming [they were] working with your they) poured clear little pellets with tiny white around the edges into your bubble. I asked about the black pellets that were also available and ‘they’ said no, not this time. Then you, bubble et al. were tipped and righted again several times. I asked how will he remove the pellets? They said, don’t worry about it. He’ll let everything go when he’s ready. It was quite the experience and I’ve never done this with another human.”
Whether or not you are familiar with reiki, this was more than having someone pass their hands over me to try to adjust my energy. My practitioner friend was right. This was reiki plus. The person was working with angels and spirits to heal me, body and spirit. The person reached out to God and the spirits to massively go inside of me and clean out the cancerous crud. If you have never put on your rubber boots to go into a cow or horse pasture and shoveled manure (I have), imagine that. Then imagine countless sources of pure light cleaning up and purifying the entire pasture.
That is what all of these people and more are doing to my physical body. With my agreement. I have had malevolent spirits make attempts to enter my physical person. They did not succeed, but pay back is eternal. What I am currently receiving is nothing short of miraculous. Having friends and family bathe me with their healing powers has completely changed my outlook on my current situation.
This efforts of this team of spiritual doctors is exhausting. My spirits are rising, but the effects are physically and mentally demanding. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed.
The news for anyone who is open to prayer, good thoughts and other forms of spiritual healing is that this is exhausting.
That’s okay. It’s just fine. While this healing is being given to us we have the privilege of giving back our gratitude.
And isn’t that just fine?
