The Speaker of Peace
The Navajo say that the speaker of peace is the Great Spirit.
The speaker of peace is the one who brings calm inside our hearts. He brings peace among the people of this world and all worlds.
However, for this peace to live inside our hearts and souls we have to be willing to lay down our personal wants and desires to let the Spirit’s desire for serenity live. If we put ourselves before the Great Spirit, no good will come of it.
In our world now, today, at this moment in time, that peace of the Great Spirit’s knowledge and wisdom runs counter to what we tell ourselves and each other. We want things. We want power. We want to be the center of attention with a constant three ring circus around us. Man, after all, and especially the men in positions of power in government, politics, religion and business are supposed to be the ones who speak their version of peace to the world that we mere mortals theoretically accept lock, stock and barrel. Those men of power live under the illusion that the rest of the world ought to heed their dictates. Their thought is that we will be blindly obedient to their wishes. We will speak their version of peace to the world in which we live.
It’s not enough.
Their cravings are not enough. They will never be enough. Those men and women run amok with the empty imprudence of the notion that they are demigods. They rule us and are to be obeyed. In truth they are mere humans with follies and foibles like the rest of us. They are weak humans who have…
