There have been only two bars that I ever liked. One was the bowling alley & bar an uncle owned when I was growing up in rural Wisconsin. He was an incredible guy and I loved watching teens and adults bowl and shoot pool. The other was the old Napolean's piano bar in Boston. Loved to hang out and sing show tunes. Any time I realized a man was looking at me I ignored him. It never occurred that they might be interested.
Ignore however many years it takes, Jamie. I met my husband at 54. We were introduced by an Episcopal priest and his wife. Several months later he became terribly ill. I became his caregiver. The only way to deal with HIPAA in America is to be married, related or constantly deal with medical and legal bureaucracies. We felw home to Boston and married. Who knew I'd get so lucky?
Look for a gay actor playing a straight man. You may meet the right guy.
